The 7 Year Old Entrepreneur

I mentioned earlier that I'd recently been to Michael's with Michael to buy the supplies needed to make friendship bracelets. He's having an economics fair at school tomorrow where they have to sell their items to make money. Now... it's not real money, but they go all out on this, having to apply for a business license, create a spiffy sign, choose pricing (which can be adjusted the day of due to supply and demand) and manufacture the product. Most of the kids in his class are making baking their items. There's brownies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, etc... But Michael decided on friendship bracelets. He named his company "Friends Are Us" (clearly he ripped off the name from his favorite toy store). He worked hard on his project, (as did Kevin and I...) and he's really happy with the results. Kevin's going to go to school with him tomorrow to help him set up, make change, adjust his prices as needed and basically just help him out. I, as usual, have to work which I'm bummed about. :o( I'm thinking he'll do great though!

Here's what my little entrepreneur created:

Next week is his last week of school. It's going to be so hard to say goodbye to his teacher. She's been amazing and I truly believe that she is solely responsible for Michael having such a successful year.
I think Michael's been feeling the same way lately. He even made her a special bracelet.
BEST TEACHER
