I read it on the Classic Las Vegas blog this morning.
Are you kidding?
The sign that got tagged stands for all that is Las Vegas. It links old Vegas with new Vegas and has been greeting tourists and locals alike for 50 years. We locals love this sign. There's been talk before about taking it down and replacing it with some sort of glitzy, over the top, modern sign. The answer was a unanimous NO! We love this sign. It is one of the few things in Las Vegas that doesn't get removed or rebuilt because it is over 25 years old. It is sadly, some of our only history left standing.
And the sign has NEVER been defaced. (At least not in the 13 years that I've been here...)
So here's what I think of you "LAA, RK and LM" with your red sharpie and you're unoriginal grafitti.
Losers!
I hope one of the 2,364,781 surveillance camera's on the Las Vegas strip is able to identify you.
Then I hope you are forced to spend months beautifying the sign and it's surroundings.
Losers.
